For the fifth straight year, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware will once again be the stage for our annual Polka festival, "Polkamotion by the Ocean." Celebrating its 29th consecutive year, Polkamotion takes place at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center, 229 Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, September 11th through 14th, 2008. This family-friendly festival delivers a variety of "live" Polka bands each day, and has a daily admission charge of $16 for adults, $15 for Seniors. Children under the age of 16 accompanied by an adult are admitted free. Delicious homemade Polish food and a variety of beverages are available each day at affordable prices.

On Thursday, September 11th, the festival is officially under way at the Convention Center featuring the Polka music of the Polka Family Band from Numidia, Pennsylvania and the Old School Band, from Cleveland, Ohio. Music is featured from 6pm to 12midnight, and the admission charge for 6 hours of continuous Polka music is only $16.
On Friday, September 12th, the Polka music continues at the Convention Center with the music of the Eddie Forman Orchestra from Hadley, Massachusetts and the Dynabrass Band from Michigan. A special appearance by Full Circle will also be featured on Friday night at Polkamotion. This ensemble of talented musicians includes four members of the esteemed International Polka Association's (IPA) Hall of Fame, Lenny Gomulka, Mike Matousek, Al Piatkowski and Jim Weber, who will feature many old-time Polka favorites. The music is featured from 6pm to 12midnight, and the admission charge is only $16.
Saturday, September 13th, Polkamotion moves into its third day with another appearance by the Old School Band. Rick Anton and the Polka Stars from New Jersey will also take the stage performing in his unique style. Two contemporary style Polka bands, Phocus, from Buffalo, New York, and the Polka Country Musicians from Connecticut will provide some incredible performances, as well. Music is featured from 5pm to 1am for the daily admission charge of $16.
On Sunday, September 14th, the festival will complete a weekend of fun beginning with a celebration of a Roman Catholic "Polka" Mass, held at 11:00am at the Convention Center. There is no admission charge for the mass. Polka music for the mass will be presented by the Tommy Thomas Trio from Baltimore, Maryland. Music and dancing with the Tommy Thomas Trio will follow the mass from 12:30 to 4:30pm, for an admission charge of $10.
Throughout the weekend, delicious homemade and authentic Polish food from the kitchen of Gil Ziemski will be available at affordable family prices. Enjoy a tasty golumbki, pierogi or a few slices of homemade fresh Polish sausage. Be sure to try a sampling of the famous Polish Beet soup, too!
Also available throughout the weekend are CDs, cassettes and a few vinyl recordings of all of your favorite Polka bands, including the bands performing throughout the weekend.
